Why should we hire you? What qualifies you as an “experienced” Austin pet sitter?

I’ve watched the Austin Pet Sitting industry explode since 2008. I started Full-Time Pet Sitting and gaining my experience and credentials in 2003. I’ve been affiliated with the National Association of Professional Pet Sitters since 2006 and remain a loyal member. The National Association sets the Standards in Pet Care! NAPPS. I participate in their monthly teleconferences and read their latest publications. Locally, I am a member of the BBB Better Business Bureau with an A+ rating. I also attend monthly and host a meeting once a year for Austin’s very own locator service, Austin Pet Sitters Organization APSO. I volunteer in the cattery regularly at Austin Pets Alive! and recently, I’ve started working on encouraging manners and good behaviors with hard to adopt dogs. APA

I am organized, compassionate, and devoted. I LOVE my job–all the pets and families that I get to meet and care for. I follow up with my clients on a routine basis. Moxie’s Pet Service is NOT a huge Pet Service with numerous employees, rather, we are a growing family. Moxie’s has added a part-time Austin pet sitter to the pack–Nicole Lenard.   Nicole has over four years pet sitting experience.  She took some time off to get her Masters degree in social work.  She recently got back into pet sitting while looking for full time social work job.  She has three dogs of her own.  She believes dogs are a gift from God.  Nicole loves dogs and cats of all sizes.  “It has been a pleasure to take care of your pets.”

What if there is an emergency?

Moxie’s Pet Service agreement has all the emergency information listed for an occasion of accident or emergency. Depending on the severity of the situation, (you will be notified immediately), your vet, or your emergency contact number will be contacted. The most important factor is handling the emergency promptly and effectively. You will be kept up to date on all events concerning incident. Your pet’s health and safety are our #1 priority. Moxie’s Pet Service is fully certified in Pet First Aid/CPR and we update our CPR/First Aid certifications regularly. In addition, we can also help you prepare for emergencies now and create a kit of pet emergency supplies. We will also help you make a plan, and give suggestions on how to prepare for any emergency or evacuation.

What is the fee if I require service before 7 am or after 9 pm?

Because Moxie’s Pet Service STRIVES to provide you and your pet with the most comfortable and routine schedule that your pets are used to, Moxie’s only charges and extra $5/visit/each or $10/day for services outside normal work hours.

Can I make a last-minute reservation?

If you are a first-time client, we have a lot of questions we need to consider before Moxie’s Pet Service can commit to do a MOXIE job for you at such short notice. Please reserve dates/times 1-2 weeks in advance. As of September 2012, we have waived the $5/$15 late fee. Please understand that we appreciate at least 3 days advance before the IC or first visit.

Moxie’s Pet Service has been a member of the Better Business Bureau since 2006. This includes 2006, 2007, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012.

How long does an initial consultation last?

Initial consultations usually last 45 minutes. Please have paperwork and functioning key/s available. During the initial consultation, we will go over all the details in order to personalize your service.

Will you do overnights?

Yes. 7pm-7am with an optional potty break between 1-3 pm.
